The Srečko Kosovel's Public Library was founded in Sežana in 1948 with the objective of spreading the reading culture in the Kras region.

For over 60 years we have been collecting, processing and archiving books and periodicals from Slovenia and abroad. Although most of our titles are in Slovene language we also have a considerable amount of books in English, Italian and other languages. We have branches in Divača, Komen and Kozina. Our library stock amounts to over 150,000 items including monographic and serial publications, audio-visual material and other library material. The central library in Sežana is opened six days a week. We also provide access to Internet, our digital collection and other online resources.
